Promotion!

Woohoo! I got a promotion at work today! I'm now a project manager (finally)!
This will come in a little handy when I go in to ask for a raise in the next couple of weeks.
I really like where I work...but the pay I have found is NOT competitive, and frankly if they want me to stick around, they're going to have to step it up.

And I've finished...

At precisely 12:07 am on Saturday I received my 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' book and I had it open walking out to the car.
It's now almost 6:30 Sunday evening and I've finished the book. I absolutely couldn NOT put it down. It's is now my favorite one of the series, appropriate it is to be the last. It was a "6-hanky" though...it's not all fun, games, and Bertie Bott's beans.
I can't say anymore about it for those who haven't read it. But beware...it will be like a 'Permanent Sticking Charm' once you pick it up! But I also feel a little sad that it's over, it's funny how you can become so attached to fictional people. But they really are great books...you can't help it. I resisted the 'Harry Potter craze' for a long time...and look at me now!

It's finally here!!!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is here! Well, at least in 11 hours and 23 minutes...

Today is a good day! It began with the usual Chai Latte from Starbucks but Venti instead of Grande today, then a 2 for 1 coupon for Qdoba's breakfast burritos, work is relatively calm, after work we'll go to the Hamilton County Fair for some food (and everyday that it's open for more food), and then to Barnes & Noble for the HP release party! Then I will become a hermit until I finish reading the book. So pardon the lack of posts until then.

Yea, for you Elkhart folk...the Hamilton County Fair is NOTHING like Elkhart's. You know we were/are spoiled right? This fair has ZERO rides and no fancy food booths like the one I have pictured. It is down right TINY...BUT...and here's why we can go everyday...it's free to get in, you don't have to park in a cornfield and walk 8 miles to get there, and everything is at least HALF the price it would be at E-town's fair.

Are we legally married?

I called the Hamilton County clerk's office today to find out what the frick is the deal with our marriage license! And there was still no record that they've received it from the officiant. So I asked what we would have to do if it's lost in the mail or lost forever and she had to go ask.
Well, she came back and it was actually in TODAY'S mail. FINALLY!!!!!
So, yes, we are legally married and I get to do the fun part of changing my name...yahoo.

Harry Potter Movie Day!!!

I've got my T-shirt on, my Gryffindor hoodie ready, my time-turner in my purse and I'm SO ready for some popcorn, twizzlers, and diet Coke...the staples of my movie going! I'll be sure to let you know what I think because I know the wait for you is just tormenting!

***We just got back from seeing it. It was FABULOUS! We want to see it again!

What happens on Wednesday???

That's right!!! My pal Harry is back in the fifth installment of the movie! We're taking a half day off of work to go see it, but on Friday not Wednesday. Hey, I happily admit to being a big dorky Potterhead! Will I be wearing HP clothing? Oh yea, a T-shirt and a Gryffindor hoodie if it gets cold in the theatre AND a plastic time turner around my neck. How dorky am I? I don't care.
I'll be wearing the same garb next Friday when I'm in line for a few hours at Barnes & Noble for the last book! And I'll have my nose in it all weekend.
I'm super excited!!! Bring on Harry, theatre popcorn (gooey butter!), and smuggled Twizzlers!

Coming to E-town

All right, this seems like an easy way to let you know that we'll be coming up to Elkhart this weekend. (7/7 & 7/8).
I guess this is directed toward the Kattau's and the McDowell's. Hopefully it works out that we can see you all. We'll have our wedding picture proof book too, and I know Elizabeth especially wanted to see it to help make the decision on what pictures she wanted.
