The Indianapolis bid package included commitments for:
-An NFL Village in downtown Indianapolis. This is a greatly enhanced version of an element that was included in the city's 2011 Super Bowl bid. Georgia Street would serve as a main artery of the village, which would connect the new Indiana Convention Center, which will house the NFL Experience, and Conseco Fieldhouse. The village would also connect to Monument Circle via Meridian Street. Organizers envision the village as a magnet for hundreds of thousands of fans who could be exposed to the Super Bowl experience.
-A Super Bowl Saturday Night party. The 242-foot Soldiers and Sailors Monument would serve as the centerpiece and stage for an event that would attract more than 50,000 fans. Additional stages with big name entertainment and giant video screens would be located on adjoining streets. Downtown office buildings would be used as a backdrop for NFL branding. The concert would end with a major fireworks event.
-A Friday night party at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the NFL. Plans call for the Pagoda Plaza and "Yard of Bricks" to be transformed into a large "tented cocoon". The start/finish line would mimic the start of the Indianapolis 500 with race cars past and present on display with a "once in a lifetime" opportunity to mingle with motorsports legends.
-Construction of an enclosed multi-purpose athletic center. Organizers propose building the state-of-the-art facility on the campus of Arsenal Technical High School on the city's near east side. It would be used as practice site for the National Football Conference team, but importantly would serve as a legacy of the 2012 event and a potential catalyst for neighborhood revival. It is possible the facility could also land at IUPUI or Marian College.
